SAYING GOODBYE TO MY MENTOR AND DEAR FRIEND

For once, I am speechless. No amount of words can express the feelings surrounding this incredible loss of our dear friend and my mentor, Dottie Rambo. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to her family.

Dottie was perhaps the most influential and inspirational person I've ever known. She has impacted the world like no other songwriter or singer ever will.

Personally, Dottie befriended me when I was a young aspiring songwriter. She was always patient and spent countless hours with me. She mentored me because she saw something in me that even I could not see.

In 1993, Dottie ceremoniously passed the mantle of songwriting down to me in one of her services at Christian Tabernacle here in Houston. It was one of the most profound moments in my life. As she prayed over my wife Sandra and me, I knew I was standing in the presence of greatness. Anyone who has ever been around Dottie understands exactly what I mean.

I already miss Dottie more than I can say. I know that we all feel the loss of this tragedy.

I would like to thank each and every person who has called us to offer condolences. We ask that you keep Dottie's family lifted in prayer through these difficult times

UDATE ON LARRY FERGUSON FAMILY AND CHRIS BARNES

As of Monday May 12, here's where it stands:

As you know, Larry Ferguson is Dottie's manager. Chris Barnes is her product manager. The driver, I do not know personally.

I spoke to Larry Ferguson Sr. again today. Larry came through the surgery just fine. His jaw and leg have been put back together. Larry's wife, Judy, has a broken shoulder. .

Chris Barnes' condition seems to almost fluctuate between critical and stable. He suffered bruised lungs.

I will post updates as I get them.
